Dhoti, also known as dhuti, veshti, dhotar, mundu, etc. is a 5 yard long unstitched piece of cloth which is worn by men. Nowadays many women are draping dhoti to depict style. Though the precise date of origin of Dhoti is not known, but it can be traced back to 5^th century BC. According to research, evidences have been found that signifies men of the Indus Valley Civilization wearing Dhoti. Needles made of bones and woods were used to spun and weave cotton.
