Dhoti is a white rectangular piece of cloth that is often worn by Indian men as a traditional wear during special occasions and functions. This piece of cloth being auspicious is also worn during wedding rituals. It is generally available in cotton and silk that is around 4-5 meters long and 1 meter wide. It is used to cover the lower portion of males. It is named differently in different places such as Laacha in Punjab, Dhuti in Bengal, Veshti in Tamil, Panche in Kannada, Mundu or Veshti in Malayam, Dhotar in Marathi and Pancha in Telugu, etc. But people of new generation hardly wears Dhoti as it is not a style statement.
